From Courage to Purpose

Ceramist Heart was born from a difficult — but necessary — decision.

Years ago, I was working in a factory, far from my family. I already had my wife and my first son, but every day felt longer than it should. I would look at the clock on the wall and feel as if time was moving backwards.

Before leaving that job, my father had introduced me to a local artisan who handcrafted pottery tools. He knew I had a talent for sales. But at the time, I didn’t see much value in those tools. They were simply wooden handles with metal tips — nothing that truly caught my attention. I didn’t even know what ceramics really was.

Then one morning, sitting on the edge of the bed beside my wife, I broke down in tears and told her I could no longer continue working in that factory, away from my family. That same day, I made the decision to leave.

With no clear plan, I gathered the small kit of tools I had received from the artisan, took simple photos, and posted them in an online pottery group.

That very Friday — the same day I left the factory — I sold my first complete kit.

The profit from that sale equaled four full days of factory work.

That was the turning point.

I realised this could offer something greater than income.
It could offer freedom.
It could allow me to stay close to my family and build something meaningful.

From that moment, I immersed myself completely in the world of ceramics. Every morning I studied techniques, watched countless videos, and learned everything I could. Eventually, I began practising pottery myself. Learning through experience gave me true understanding. I was no longer thinking only as a seller — I was thinking as a potter.

Together with the artisan, I began developing new tool models. I handled everything myself: packaging orders, building boxes, creating adverts, responding to customers, managing the website. It was overwhelming at times, but I remained resilient.

When the partnership eventually ended, I feared everything might collapse. But I still had something powerful: my brand — Coração do Ceramista — and customers across Brazil who trusted my work.

Determined to continue, I began importing tools directly from China, carefully selecting suppliers who offered quality and innovation not yet available in the Brazilian market. We introduced new designs, new possibilities, and expanded the range of tools available to potters.

My family joined the journey. My father started producing handcrafted wooden tools, including one-metre rolling pins for slab work. Friends became part of the team. The website improved. Our content expanded. Customer service evolved.

The company grew.

Then a new vision emerged:
Not only serving Brazil — but serving the world.

We chose Europe as our first international step.

Today, our European store has been operating for over two years. We proudly serve potters across multiple countries, offering carefully selected tools, organised and secure shopping, and dedicated support.

What began as a painful decision in a simple bedroom became a family business built on courage, resilience, and a deep love for ceramics.

We are passionate about what we do.
We are proud of what we have built.
And we continue to innovate in the pottery world.

We are here to support you.
We are here to give life to your art.

Made by potters, for potters.
